GT Buildings can now offer a service to have a backscene painted for your layout by a professional artist, Sara Heller. They are painted in acrylics on good quality acrylic roll canvas, which means you can have any length of backscene you want.
Attach the canvas to MDF, ply or simply staple to the wall.
My own layout, Barmouth Junction, has the backscene painted by Sara and looks really great.
All backscenes will be individually priced, according to what you want painted on them. You can therefore have exactly what you want, with no compromise.
Other paintings can also be commissioned.
Here are a selection of scenes that have been hand-

Information needed
We aim to give you the best, so the requirements needed for us to make sure your
get the best possible painted backscene are:-
Make a grid in 1 inch squares of length and the height you require. Roughly put in details or outlines of hills, buildings, trees, etc.
Perhaps tell us what sky you prefer or leave that to the artist. In fact, tell us as much information as possible with the plan.
Send any photographs or colour copies of the chosen location by post or e-
Mark on the pics or copies, A, B, C, D, E, etc., and also on the grid the same letters, so we can see exactly where each bit is on the scene.
We can then quote you a price for the backscene. It will be sent to you by Post Office Recorded Delivery in a strong cardboard tube for £10.
Costing really depends on how much detail you want painted. For example, you could just have a sky scene and you add the rest to it.
This is a great opportunity to have exactly the backscene you want with no compromise.
