Gresley Beat
4mm scale exhibition layout

The Gresley Beat is a large exhibition layout based on the approaches to King’s Cross in London. The era has been set between 1923 and 1939, so varied engine and coaching stock can be seen. I have constructed many of the buildings on the layout, which include Top Shed and all it’s associated buildings, such as the main office, mess rooms, toilet block and water softener.

One of my personal favourites that I have built to commission, has to be the London terraces. This whole section on the right-hand corner has been constructed as a complete model in my workshop and includes all the terraces, pub, funeral director’s, roads, back-yards and retaining walls. It was made on a sub-baseboard, then glued and screwed in place on the layout boards.
